Microsoft and Tech Industry Sales Rocketships

Household name; Microsoft, is synonymous with global success, growth and multi-billions in sales since it’s inception in 1979.  The tech industry was a buzz in the late 90s with opportunities and IPOs.

The fastest rocket ship in the high tech software industry was Novell. Novell took 3 years to reach $50 million after it was founded in 1983. You may recognize a few other 3 year /50 million dollar rocket ships from years gone by: Adobe, McAfee  and Verisign.

Microsoft and Oracle weren’t rocket ships.

Most people would automatically assume these two company’s sales shot to the moon. Two of the most valuable companies ever, Microsoft took 8 years to reach $50 million in sales; Oracle took 10.  I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Apple.  Apple was indeed a rocket ship. Founded in 1976, after reaching roughly $8 per share in 1983,  annual revenue soared to almost 1 billion.  Not bad, 1 Billion in just 7 years.

How about this rocket ship? One of the fastest growing industries is direct sales.  Network marketing companies sell products, services and best of all, offer financial opportunity.  Last year, the top 25 companies produced almost 50 billion in sales world-wide.  Why?  Referral marketing;  word of mouth and personal relationships make these companies go viral. Household company names like Avon, Amway, Herbal life, Mary Kay and Tupperware topped the 2013 DSN Global 100 list.

In terms of annual revenue, the top 100 companies are just the tip of the iceberg.  I estimate this year, global direct sales will approach 200 billion dollars annually.  (See findings from the DSA Growth & Outlook, available at www.dsa.org/statistics)  People from all walks of life, nationalities, blue collar, white collar, male and female are rushing into direct sales.

Since we’re talking rocket ships, “Houston, we’ve got a problem!”  Have you noticed a lot of college graduates working low salary or even minimum wage jobs?   How does a displaced, 50 year old executive find a six-figure salary?  How does our domestic workforce survive when jobs are being outsourced to the world?   If you can’t beat um, join um. Why not go global from the comfort of your own home? Opportunity abounds but the key is to find the right opportunity at the right time.

The  fastest growing Network Marketing company in 2012 made the top 100 list with 100 Million in sales in their first full year.

This company launched into warp speed and close with 219 Million in sales in 2013.  So far that’s just one country, the USA.  Preparing for a global launch into Canada, Latin America and South East Asia, this company will likely approach 1 Billion in sales by 2015.  Imagine riding a billion dollar wave all in just over 3 years. Compare that to the measly 50 million in 3 years from the so-called rocket-ship tech companies.  If you’d like to catch the momentum wave, please provide your contact information to to the right.
