The ART of Growing Above the Flow

Every person possesses God-given ART that fills them with passion and purpose. Faith-filled believers pose a direct threat to the Kingdom of Darkness.

The believer’s adversary, Satan, strikes through his demonic minions the moment we begin to step into our calling. Your calling is your ART, those God-placed capacities through which His anointing and revelation align our talents with His purpose. Scripture reminds us, “Every good and perfect gift is from above.” (James 1:17)

A believer’s accusers resist fiercely, working to bury what God entrusted us to multiply. Jesus warned of this in the parable, where fear drove a servant to hide what was meant to be stewarded and multiplied. He justified his disobedience by saying, “I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground.” (Matthew 25:25)

This same pattern repeats across generations. Writers, artists, and thinkers describe an invisible resistance that rises the moment a person steps into what they were born to do. Fear is the root of it—fear of failure, exposure, loss, and stepping forward without guarantees. Fear of not being good enough. But victory over darkness does not come through human struggle alone—it comes through spiritual alignment.

When a person making ART is a believer, resistance escalates because their obedience and focused alignment with God threaten the Kingdom of Darkness.

For those who accept the call, the enemy ramps up his strategy, and fear gives birth to procrastination and double-mindedness. It fragments our focus and scatters our attention. The adversary distracts, delays, and gradually confines us until delay feels justified and stagnation feels safe. This resistance is not merely psychological; it is a spiritual battle aimed at suppressing God’s creative power at work through a humble, yielded servant.

When a servant of the King uses their talents to advance their calling, resistance intensifies. It comes through spiritual weapons of warfare. Through clarity of our identity in Christ. Through growing into the mind of Christ. And by learning to walk with God’s vision directing our steps.

This is not by stiff‑arming resistance in our own strength, but by rising above and seeing God’s vision. When perspective shifts, and identity becomes clear, what once felt overwhelming loses its power. We no longer react from fear; we move with discernment, seeing from God’s vantage point rather than being trapped in the struggle.

“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)

Even believers are subject to the flow of earthly life—the path of least resistance most follow. It pulls us downstream through reaction, comfort, and conformity, keeping us trapped inside paradigms that pull us down. But when our perspective shifts, and our identity is revealed, we become aware of the struggle, and it begins to loosen its grip. Spiritual growth does not come naturally to the carnal man; transformation is required.

Deep down, you know God has called you to something greater because you are a one-in-400-quadrillion miracle of birth, uniquely designed for a divine purpose. God’s purpose for your talents is not merely discovered—it is spiritually discerned.

“The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:14)

For me, ART means this: Anointing Reveals Talent. God anoints yielded vessels, reveals the gifts He placed within us, and empowers us to live on purpose. His Kingdom functions inside of us and through us. Jesus is not a lofty ideal of human assension. Rising above the flow is a spiritual perspective. And we must embrace God’s vision daily.

ART takes shape through resistance—not as something we must oppose head‑on, but as a refining force that trains us to rise above it. God molds and strengthens us through faithful obedience, even when no one is watching.

ART is inside you. It is not something you create—it is something you reveal. It is the intersection of your purpose and your passion.

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.” (Ephesians 2:10)

You are His workmanship. God creates with intention and calls us to work with Him. Our ART comes alive as we walk in obedience and faithfully steward what He has entrusted to us.

Some believe they must become worthy before God can use them. Scripture tells us otherwise. God does not revoke what He gives. “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” (Romans 11:29)

Your gifts were not earned by performance, and they are not withdrawn because of weakness. God anoints yielded vessels, not perfected ones. Others may try to pull you down to their level—questioning your calling, minimizing your gifts, or urging you to stay where it feels safe. Do not believe them. The world does not need another copy or recycled ideas. God has placed a unique message within you to draw others to Him. Rise up in God, grow beyond the flow of mediocrity, and walk in the purpose He has prepared for you.

This is the heart of this series—Answer the Call. Your purpose awaits you. Will you answer the call?
