Choosing Your Attitude React or Respond

Many have experienced economic pressures over the last few years. Choosing your attitude and whether to react or respond will make all the difference.

An attitude is an expression of favor or disfavor toward a person, place, thing, or event.  Most choose to react to circumstances with a negative outlook some to respond with a constructive solution. The minority choose to take positive action   A winning attitude makes the adjustments and initiates changes necessary to overcome the obstacles and even profit during a crisis.

Merely reacting emotionally as the victim of circumstance does not change anything. Responding is better –it’s important cope with the situation and make adjustments. Effective leaders don’t just let things happen to them, they anticipate change even when things are going great. They choose a positive attitude and move forward.

Anticipation and initiation are important ingredients for ongoing success in any business or venture. Leaders access the situation and take action immediately. Leaders view challenges as opportunities — the glass half empty or half full scenario.

Be different than the majority, embrace change, adjust your attitude and make something happen! I’ll leave you with a quote.   “A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” – Winston Churchill
