What are Your Chances of Winning the Power Ball Jackpot?

What are Your Chances of Winning a Billion or more playing Power Ball?

The largest Power Ball jackpot in U.S. history happened last week, an unbelievable  1.5 Billion was won by three lucky peeps.  The chances of winning were 1 in 300,000,000.  Dumb and Dumber, a hilarious cult film of the 1990s featured Jim Carrey and costar Lauren Holly. Lloyd, (Jim’s character) asked, “What are my chances of us ending up together?” Mary (Lauren’s character) looked at him in disbelief and replied, “One in a million.”Lloyd exclaimed, “So, you’re telling me there’s a chance?”

In 1998, in Reno, Nevada, a business colleague and I were having dinner between conference meetings. Our table was next to the casino, and we heard the sirens roar when a young lady pulled the handle of a dollar slot machine and won millions. The burgeoning crowd gathered with hundreds of hopeful slot junkies and gamblers, casino personnel, the police, the fire department, and, most likely, the IRS somewhere in the crowd. It seemed that everyone showed up for the gala! In the midst of all this excitement, what came to mind was a statement I’d heard Jim Rohn make years prior:

Pity the man (woman) who inherits a million dollars and who isn’t a millionaire. Here’s what would be pitiful: If your income grew and you didn’t.  — Jim Rohn

Net worth is not measured in financial profit alone and REAL success does not happen by chance.  We know what happens to people who win the lottery but have not developed the mindset and attitudes to handle it. Success is not a destination; it is your growth process along the journey of life.

By the way, one in a million is pretty good odds compared to a typical Power ball jackpot. The great news is that your odds are much better if you invest in a business! Rather than depending on Lady Luck, take charge of your future, and begin to develop a millionaire mindset now. See this hilarious clip from Dumb and Dumber.
